As a Liverpool Fan, I am so happy.
Whilst it is just the Carabao Cup, in Klopp's last season as a manager, any trophy means a lot. A 1-0 in Wembley after a header from Virgil Van Dijk was amazing. But that wasn't the most eventful thing in the match. First of all, Chris Kavanagh as we all know, he hates Liverpool. Caicedo breaking Ryan Gravenberch's ankle early on and only getting a yellow was a prime example. Endo blocked off Colwill for Van Dijk first goal and it was disallowed, funny that, considering it is a tactic all teams use. But either way, it was probably the most exciting 1-0 game I have ever watched. 20 shots on target and only one goal, the goalkeepers deserve applause. Kelleher, coming in as a back up and still putting in one of the best performances of his career is crazy. But the most crazy thing is one issue, the Liverpool players. Liverpool turned up to a final against Chelsea without Alisson, Salah, Nunez, Szoboszlai, Jones, Jota, Alexander-Arnold and Thiago. Liverpool had three players under 20 for the entirety of extra time and they did the job. This is where we will miss Klopp, the nurture and time and trust he gives to his youth players is ultimately crazy. It just makes you wonder what will happen when he leaves, how anyone can find someone who does that is completely incredible. He, for that one reason, is already one of the greatest managers. These boys who come in don't look like boys, they look like men, they come into the side and slot right in, fitting in simply perfectly. Jurgen Klopp had the confidence in McConnell, Clark and Danns for the whole of extra time, simply because he knew exactly what they were capable of after learning under his system. So, one trophy down and 3 to go, can Liverpool win it all?
